Glenden Community Workshop
15 September 2015
Glenden is a small town located about three hour's drive south-east of Bowen. The town is mainly home to miners and their families, with some living there permanently and others commuting before and after every round of shifts. The Glenden My Space/Our Place community workshop was facilitated in the function room at the Glenden Town Centre on 15 September, with seven participants, including Adam and Andry from Glencore. As in Rolleston, the workshop took place from 4-7pm giving photographers the opportunity to make photographs in the wonderful afternoon light.
Some great afternoon colour shots were made, but equally, the black and white images came out a treat!
Photography Tip: Photographing in the early morning or late afternoon light can saturate the colour of your photos if you underexpose a bit. Also, playing with exposure and thinking in black and white can produce some great contrasty results that are full of emotion.
